Forget the gym! Try a 6-week boot camp class that will have you running sprints, jumping rope, and losing weight.

If getting back into shape is one of your New Year's resolutions, try Longview Fitness Boot Camp as an alternative to the gym. We keep the routines fresh and everyday is a different workout.  You will be shaping and toning your body with good old-fashioned push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and sprints.  A typical workout may include jumping rope, running bleachers, sprints or obstacle courses to improve agility and speed. We also weight train with hand weights and resistance bands to increase strength. We have TRX Suspension training (shown above) that uses your own body weight as resistance and is an effective and efficient way to train.  We have a huge variety of exercises that offer a challenge while preventing boredom.

We typically meet at Lobo Stadium to workout.  On bad weather days, we have indoor facilities, Elite Gym or Hampton Inn, where we can go and target certain muscle groups. It may be arms, abs, or a lower body workout.  We also have a kickboxing instructor who comes in and leads us in a fun, high cardio, calorie-blasting kickboxing routine.
The boot camp is $119 for the 6-week program, which is a great value compared to other boot camps in this area or hiring a personal trainer.  If you want to come check it out before you sign up for the 6 week class, you can buy a punch card for $50 and that will get you 10 workouts. All you need to bring is an exercise mat (you can find those at Walmart or Academy if you don't already own one) and hand held weights.  For beginners, you should bring 3lb-5lb weights. For more advanced or returning boot campers, you should have 8lb-12lb weights.
Does boot camp work?  ABSOLUTELY!  You will see changes and results in terms of fat loss, weight loss, cardiovascular improvement, and stamina.  Of course, the more often you come and train, the bigger results you'll see.
